This early 20th century lattice window panel from China's Shanxi province likely originated in a traditional home with balanced interiors. Both functional and decorative, lattice windows allowed for fresh air and light to flow into a room while still maintaining privacy.

Assembled by joining long strips of carved wood, this lattice window has an even, grid-like pattern set within a square frame. The latticework is interrupted by five star-like chrysanthemums, symbols of autumn and longevity. Crafted of pine wood, we love this vintage lattice panel for its subdued coloring and raw, unfinished texture.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
