Topped with a 19th-century decorative architectural tile, this statement table brings together modern functionality with ancient tradition. The incised earthenware top resembles a weiqi game board, the ancient strategy game traditionally practiced by scholars and officials. To highlight the reclaimed top, our carpenters employed traditional joinery techniques to design a frame with bold lines and graphic effect. Cloaked in black lacquer, this table would be an impactful addition to a hall or entryway.
