From the outside, this low Chinese cedar cabinet is unassuming. However, opening the two lacquered doors reveals a shrine designed to house altar spirits and incense. It was thoughtfully crafted with drawers and openings to accommodate offerings and facilitate rituals. The central chamber would have held a buddha, making this small cabinet perfect for a meditation or yoga room today.
