It’s difficult to distinguish this square pedestal from a modern Parson’s side table - both exhibit clean lines and a great silhouette. Crafted of northern elmwood (yumu) using mortise-and-tenon joinery techniques, the pedestal features straight corner legs stabilized by a square frame. The piece likely once supported one side of a plank top surface, to form an elongated pedestal table used much like a traditional altar. We love the minimalist design of this square table, enriched by a layer of beautifully worn dark lacquer.
