Square Woven Bamboo Basket

This vintage square basket is beautifully woven of thin strips of smoked bamboo in alternating diagonal twill patterns. The woven sides are secured to a rigid bamboo frame at the opening and cinched by a braided band for a more defined shape. Smoothed by time and touch, this humble basket is a work of art in itself and a wonderful example of a traditional craft.
