As evidenced by the interior glaze, this vessel was once used in a provincial Qing-dynasty kitchen for storing food and condiments. The vessel has a gently tapered form, with wide shoulders, small strap handles and a slightly constricted neck. The speckled brown glaze has a soft sheen and deepens in color as it sheets and pools across the textured ceramic body. Lightly crazed and textured by firing imperfections, this kitchen jar boasts a natural speckled pattern that calls to be touched.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
