Hand-carved from reclaimed wood, these rustic koi sculptures recreate early 20th-century Chinese folk art designs. Each fish is carved with a squat, rounded body and painted with a colorful palette of blues, purples, and yellows. Common motifs in Chinese art, fish are emblems of harmony, wealth, and luck, and Buddhist symbols of "freedom from all restraints." Finished with beautifully worn textures and set on custom steel mounts, these charming koi figures look wonderful on a bookcase or console as a tabletop sculpture.
